Welcome back

The Fall 2017 Season is almost here. Over 350 teams in 29 regions will soon begin their journey towards qualifying for the NCCGA National Championship and newly added National Invitational Tournament at Paiute Golf Resort in Las Vegas.  For more details on Nationals changes and to see what teams would have qualified last season, take a look at our blog here

NCCGA Top 25 Preseason Rankings

Fall 2017

The rankings and team analysis were compiled by the 2017 NCCGA Student Leaders Adam Gracik, Grant Johnson, and Leia Schwartz using information from previous seasons and national championship performances. Take a look below, and let us know what you think of the rankings on Twitter @NCCGA.

---------

1. Georgia

The Fall 2016 & Spring 2017 National Champions are back and looking to be the first ever school to “three-peat”. The bulldogs were able to win both titles with only 7 golfers in the lineup. Throughout both Championships, not a single Bulldog was able to capture a top 4 finish. Proving that the sum of this squad is truly greater than it's parts.

2. Grand Canyon

The Lopes return all 8 players from the team that finished 2nd in their first ever Nationals Appearance. All 8 fired a 159 or better during the trip to Hot Springs CC. Club President Joe Knight returns as a grad student, along with National All-Tournament team members Jordan Yamamoto and Zach Capel.

3. Alabama

The Crimson tide are looking for redemption this fall after finishing 5th at Hot Springs. After entering into last semester's Championship as the #1 ranked team the Tide were not able to roll to a first place finish. The Crimson Tide also lose top player Connor Elder, but they always seem to replenish their team with new talent.

4. Florida

The Gators fell only 3 shots short of forcing a playoff in Arkansas this past Spring. Florida has came close several times since winning their lone NCCGA title in Spring 2015.

5. Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State comes into the fall fresh off another great finish at nationals. We know the Pokes are hungry for another chance to dethrone the Bulldogs, but they have a tough road ahead as they are in a challenging zone.

6. Baylor

Baylor was able to pull off another top 10 finish in Arkansas this past spring. Baylor is has been one of more “deep” teams in the NCCGA over the last few semesters, very consistent from top to bottom. Is this the year they will break through for a championship?

7. Ohio

The Bobcats made their first ever trip to Nationals this past spring and took advantage of the opportunity with an 8th place finish. Cameron Lang led the way with All Tournament Team Honors. Were the Bobcats a flash in the pan or will they prove to be legit? Time will tell.

8. Michigan

The Wolverines finished 12th in Arkansas, doing so without their best golfer. Both Ian Martin and Chand Rajendra- Nicolucci earned All Tournament Team honors along the way. We wouldn't be surprised to see them in Vegas.

9. Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish finished in 7th place at Hot Springs CC, this was their first Nationals Appearance since the Fall of 2015. With a majority of the team returning, Notre Dame enters the fall as a slight favorite over Indiana and Purdue in the Indiana Region.

10. South Carolina

Spring 2017 was a strange season for the Gamecocks. During a return trip to Glade Springs as guests of the Colonial region, they finished in 4th place. A majority of the team returns from the past year, including club president Evan Rodwell.
