Be it the National Partnership with Cleveland / Srixon Golf, our incredible growth to have 200+ teams competing this spring, and alignment within Nextgengolf NCCGA is on the rise. Our media partner, Golfweek, has caught wind of the plethora of talented players we have, and has graciously gotten an exemption for our #RoadtoJersey National Champion Medalist to compete in the Southeastern Amateur, one of the premier Amateur events worldwide.

A little history on the Southeastern Amateur:

• Created in 1922 and has been held in both Match-Play and Stroke-play formats, and many records have been set along the way
• Formerly known as the Columbus Country Club Invitational the tournament was later renamed in 1938, albeit with controversy, to the Southeastern Amateur.
• Past Champions include: Doug Sanders, Tommy Aaron, Danny Edwards, Curtis Strange, Columbus native Kenny Knox, and 5 time champion Allen Doyle.
• Runner-ups include: Mason Randolph, Gardner Dickinson, Bert Greene, Steve Melnyk, Gary Koch, Ben Crenshaw, Fuzzy Zoeller, Andy Bean, Willy Wood, and Paul Azinger.

The individual winner of our spring National Championship at The Crystal Spring Resort in New Jersey on April 26^th and 27^th will earn an exemption to this prestigious championship. With players in the NCCGA such as Christian Dolan and former NCCGA National Championship medalist Tom Duty, the level of talent in our Association continues to grow which is one of the main reasons why this exemption was extended to us.

Both teams and individuals can qualify for the #RoadtoJersey. For those who don’t know, we have introduced a new policy this spring allowing individuals to compete in Regional Tournaments that do not yet have a club golf team at their school. If you got cut from your varsity team or prefer the lifestyle of a club golfer, NCCGA provides an exceptional opportunity to enjoy golf and still have time to enjoy your life off the course as well.
