Winter weather in Cincinnati can be a major obstacle when trying to stay on top of your golf game year-round. By the time December rolls around, the cold weather makes getting in 9 or 18 holes almost impossible until March. Luckily, there are options for keeping sharp and even having fun during the cold off-season.
1) Swing Fit Golf Club
Swing Fit Golf is a premier Cincinnati-based indoor golf school that brings Tour-level expertise and instruction to your swing, mental and physical training, and club-fitting to bring out the champion in every golfer. Swing Fit Golf works with golfers of all ages and skill levels, and specializes in junior golf development. Their team includes a former LPGA Tour professional, two former European tour players, and a physical trainer with both a medical and fitness Titleist Performance Institute rating. The facility features technology the pros use, including a custom PuttView green that uses augmented reality ball tracking (one of only 30 in the world), as well as six Dual-Radar TrackMans that provide instant feedback to improve your ball striking.
2) Miles of Golf
Miles of Golf is one of the top Club Fitting Facilities in the Country and is designated as a Golf Digest Top 100 Club Fitter, a Callaway Performance Club Fitting Center and has been recognized as one of the Best 100 Golf Shops in the country by Golf Digest in its first two years. Although they don't have a simulator, they do have heated and covered range stalls and indoor club fitting areas.
3) 1 Under Golf
Are you looking for a place where you can practice with purpose? Rain or shine, all year-long with Trackman where you can hit a variety of shots using your driver, iron, or wedge and use the data to track your progress. Instead of going to the driving range and hitting random balls, trackman shows your strengths and weaknesses and allows you to compare your data with tour players and/or your friends.
4) Topgolf
Topgolf has been a huge hit across the country for years. In the summer of 2016, the Topgolf facility just off I-75 opened giving people in the Tri-State a chance play in leagues, hit on one of the 100+ bays on three floors, and watch their favorites games on the over 200 HD TVs. Although the bays are outdoors, each one has a personal heater and you can always go inside to the bar or to play games.
5) Cincinnati Sports Club
The Indoor PGA Golf Simulator at the Cincinnati Sports Club provides members the opportunity to practice their golf swing and putting all year long. Be sure to set up a quick 10-minute orientation and a tee time so you can enjoy all our PGA courses. The Sports Club offers instruction from Athletic Trainers and Certified Personal Trainers to take your game to the next level.
Regardless of whether you are on the west or east side, there are many heated ranges that allow the golf nuts a chance to get ready for the spring! And if you're looking for Cincinnati golf tournaments, the Nextgengolf City Tour starts in May, so get those swings back into shape.
