The second regional for the NCCGA North Florida Region was played at the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida. The conditions were great for scoring as shown by UF Club Golf's Josh Dubberly’s opening round 68 and Blake Herschberger’s 2nd round 69 as well as a lot of other good scores from all of the teams that were there. Blake Herschberger’s second round 69 propelled him to a 2 stroke win over teammate Josh Dubberly for the medalist honors.
“It was great to host a tournament on our home course," UF Club Golf President Blake Herschberger said. "Our teams played well, and overall it was a great tournament.”
The University of Florida A team won the tournament with a score of 724 to sweep both of the North Florida regional tournaments, but with UF Club Golf already having a spot at Nationals due to their Spring National Championship, the focus of the three other full teams in the field, GAA-Orlando, FSU, and UF B, was who was going to get the other automatic bid from the region.
All three teams were within 10 shots of each other after the first round. In the second round GAA-Orlando shot a nine over 369, led by Cody White’s second round of even par, to claim second place and the automatic bid to Nationals.
