Nextgengolf will be hosting 50 golf tournaments this Summer at some of the best public and private golf courses around the country. In this 4-part series, we will be featuring the top golf courses that will be hosting City Tour events.
Nextgengolf's City Tour is offering team based weekend tournaments in 14 cities this Summer for 18-34 year olds. The events will be 2-person best ball format. Teams will consist of 4-8 players and the top 2 pair scores for each team will count.
Teams compete in up to 4 events during the summer (minimum of 2) in order to qualify for the City Tour National Championship in September at Dubsdread Course at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Chicago, Illinois. Cog Hill has been host to the BMW Championship, Western Open, US Amateur, and the US Men and Women Pub Links.
Indian Pond Country Club (Kingston, MA)
Boston City Tournament #1 - Sunday May 31
Indian Pond is a 18 private championship golf course tucked away in peaceful Kingston, MA. Opened in 2001, Indian Pond provides a premium golf experience in the South Shore. Playing 6,614 from the championship tees, Indian Pond provides a challenging round of golf because of its winding layout and water on multiple holes.
The golf course was designed by Damian Pascuzzo and has been recognized by Golf Digest as a Top 20 Best in State. Located conveniently off of Rt 3, Indian Pond is a treasure tucked away in the South Shore of Massachusetts.
Harborside International Golf Center (Chicago, IL)
Chicago City Tour Tournament #1 - Sunday, May 31
Located just a few minutes from downtown Chicago, Harborside is home to two of Golfweek's "Best Courses You Can Plan in Illinois". It is also home to one of the best practice facilities in Illinois. The driving range includes bent grass tees, practice target greens, and short game practice areas. These top rated courses, proximity to downtown Chicago, and extensive practice area makes this an ideal host for city golf tournaments. The two championship golf courses, Port and Starboard, were designed by Dick Nugent and are links styled courses. Harborside hosts many competitive events every year and was host to a PGA Champions TOUR event in 2002. The NCCGA Great Lakes Regional Event was held on April 11/12, 2015 and you can find the results from that weekend here.
The Tribute Golf Club (The Colony, TX)
Dallas City Tournament #1 - Sunday, May 31
The Tribute at The Colony is located just off the eastern shores of Lake Lewisville and offers a unique Scottish-styled link experience. Golf Digest named The Tribute the #1 Public Golf Course in the Dallas Area and in 2005 it was named one of the 100 Great Public Courses in America. The course was designed by architect Tripp Davis and it includes traditional Scottish elements including wide-swept dunes, sea washed grasses, and water hazards. The Tribute will provide a challenging and unique experience for the Dallas City Tour players on May 31st.
