Where college students go for golf

The Mountain Region is playing at Heritage Eagle Bend on March 29 & 30th, and now that the the weather is turning nice for a spell, it looks like we may actually get some practice in before that.

The North Region is in it’s first semester of competition in the NCCGA. The region contains some members from the Great Lakes Region, as well as a handful of newcomers from around the Wisconsin and Minnesota area. Wisconsin, Marquette, and Michigan Tech lead a region which may be lack NCCGA experience, but will certainly prove competitive throughout the spring.

Often times it takes a new club golf team a semester or two to get their feet wet before they become a threat in NCCGA competition; that is ANYTHING but the case for Laura Kanouse's newly formed University of Florida Club Golf team. I had the chance to ask her a few questions on how she put together a new team that was able to come out on top in the NCCGA spring Florida Regional 1 at The Claw at University of Southern Florida this past weekend.

Boy, what an exciting few days of basketball we experienced last week! Not only did we see many "shocking" upsets (Wichita State pun!), but we also learned that no one will receive Warren Buffett's offer of $1 billion for a perfect bracket!

The NCCGA tournament on March 22 and 23, that took place at the Claw at USF, was one for the books.

In an effort to help club golf teams start their own #GolfTraditions, Nextgengolf & NCCGA have teamed up with State Traditions to bring an array of benefits to NCCGA teams and Nextgengolf members across the country.

The Colonial region is a break off of the Capitol region, but don’t let that fool you, there is no lack of firepower in this region.

To kick off the Spring 2014 season in the North Carolina region, 7 teams will meet at Lochmere GC on March 22/23 to showdown and claim bragging rights (as well as National qualifying points). Playing at just over 6600 yards with a rating of 132 and a slope of 72.1, it should be the perfect way to start what hopes to be another great year for the NC region.

Happy second day of the tournament NCCGA Madness participants! Here's an update on the action after the first day of the round of 64... We have quite the competition going with a bunch of solid brackets crowding the top of the standings!

We are one day away from the beginning of NCCGA Madness, and with that being said, I just wanted to remind you of some rules for the competition.
