Best driving ranges in Austin

By Oliver Mauk

Below showcases some of the best driving ranges in the Austin, Texas area. All of these facilities offer golf lessons and are highly equipped with multiple different amenities. For tips on how to have a productive driving range session, click here

1) Jimmy Clay Golf Course

5400 Jimmy Clay Dr., Austin, TX 78744 - $5-$7 per bucket

Located in Southeast Austin, Jimmy Clay is a member of Golf ATX and is one of the cheaper places to hit balls around the city. They range was enlarged and improved in 2007 to make Jimmy Clay a premier practice facility. There is also a 4-hole "short course" on-site to get a little on course practice after your range session.

2) The Driving Range Round Rock

3533 Greenlawn Blvd., Round Rock, TX 7866 - $7-$16 per bucket

This facility opened in 2006 and features lush Bermuda grass with no mats! Round Rock has high output lighting so you can get the most out of your late night practice sessions. A large putting green, short game range, and large porch for hanging out before or after your range session make this one of the best places to hit balls in Austin.

3) Butler Park Pitch and Putt

201 Lee Barton Dr., Austin, TX 78704 - $9-$11 per round

So this is actually not a driving range at all, but is a fantastic place for short game practice and a ton of fun. The 9-hole short course is fast and easy to play and will help you with your wedges and your putting. You can also pay a flat rate of $25 to play the course on loop all day long!

4) Topgolf Austin

2700 Esperanza Crossing, Austin, TX 78758 - Hitting bay fees fluctuate from $14-$50 per hour
