Everyone can use a little golf help

The Nextgengolf team is excited to share some of the big changes golfers will see next summer with the second season of the City Tour. We have spent the last couple months since the 2015 City Championship at Cog Hill collecting feedback, talking to players, evaluating new cities, and coming up with the best experience for all current and future members of the City Tour. Ready to see what we have in store for this summer?

Playing a round of golf takes over 4 hours and it is pretty common to get hungry on the course. This fall a number of NCCGA players asked to provide snacks and water to improve the 2016 season. I did some research on the golf snack market and came up with my top five snacks for the golf course. Please let me know your thoughts on these snacks and if you have any other suggestions. Hopefully we will have snacks at every Nextgengolf event in 2016. Happy snacking!

Last year, we were happy to take part in Nextgengolf's #GolfStache campaign, which raised over $500 for the Testicular Cancer Foundation. But we are even more excited to have a deeper involvement this year. Here at TCF, we are thankful to have an organization like Nextgengolf that helps not only bring in funds for our organization, but more importantly, raises awareness of Testicular Cancer to our target demographic – males ages 15-35. I personally look forward to attending the NCCGA National Championship at TPC San Antonio, and will be handing out our educational materials for those who’d like to learn more about this disease.

As I'm taking this crazy journey in learning more about this sport, it's becoming clearer - being a woman who golfs means still being an outlier. I went to play a local par 3 course, and Christina and I were the only females out there.

I had the opportunity to spend Columbus Day weekend at Turning Stone Resort in Upstate New York, and I thought I would share my experience.

Do you remember your first time?

After a soggy and eventful day 1, that saw the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club yield some low scores, you knew it would get interesting on day 2 after the courses had some time to dry out. The field of 92 players from across the country were going to need to go low to catch the team of Slice and Dice from Cincinnati, who opened play with a 131 (-13) on the Ravines (No. 2) course. Giving chase after day 1 were Shooter Magowan and Tin Cup.

What an awesome first day for the City Tour National Championship at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club! After some torrential rain passed through the Chicago area Friday afternoon/evening the Ravines and Dubsdread courses were ripe for some low first round scores. Ideal scoring conditions arrived Saturday morning, and remained throughout the day for the 14 teams from across the country competing to be crowned the inaugural City Tour Champions.

Continuing our team profiles heading into this weekend's City Tour Championship we asked a few questions to Team Oklahoma State captain Joshua Oestricher. Here's what he had to say:
