Adapting to a new generation of golfers

4 things I found on my Myrtle Beach buddies trip

By Matt Weinberger

Each year since 2013 my group of 8 friends takes an annual golf trip to a new destination. In 2018, we ventured to Myrtle Beach, SC and found it to be one of the best values and most enjoyable trips to date. Here are 4 things I found this year during my Stay and Play package!

1. Great value – When you go to Myrtle Beach you have an abundance of options for golf courses and lodging. Myrtle Beach is well known for their Stay and Play options and we found a great deal for 72 holes of golf, 3 nights lodging, and gift cards for local restaurants and in the pro shop all for around $400.

2. Groups like us – We certainly were not the only group of golfers making a trip to Myrtle Beach. Everywhere we looked other golf groups were often also wearing team colors (Red vs. Blue for our event).

3. Fun nightlife – After a long day of 36 holes it’s fun to take an Uber a few minutes away to Broadway on the Beach. We were able to eat at Margaritaville and hit up a few of the local bars.

4. Great golf courses – Myrtle Beach has hundreds of courses and they really know how to take care of the grounds. We went to Myrtlewood and really enjoyed the Pine Hills and Palmetto courses which were both very reasonably priced.
