Where college students go for golf

Conventional wisdom would suggest a cold-weather club golf team would have an advantage today at Crystal Springs Resort.

Apparently the North Carolina State club team didn’t get the memo.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Spring 2014 NCCGA National Championship. After months of preparation and 43 regional tournaments across the nation, the field is set and prepared to take on Crystal Springs Resort.

The Michigan State Spartans rolled through another Regional Tournament en route to qualifying for the National Championships at Crystal Springs Resort in New Jersey.

With the final week of regular season tournament play complete this past weekend, it means picking our last NCCGA Player and Team of the Week.

Hello college golfers! Hopefully your final few weeks of the school year aren't being so busy that they're keeping you off the course.

The day has finally arrived.

After much deliberation over the past two days finding out which teams could or could not make it to the National Championship at Crystal Springs Resort on April 26-27, the tournament field has officially been finalized.

Club golf is student-funded, often over par, and always for the love of the game. Most of our students won't go pro, some may never break 80, but everyone of our 10,000+ college students spends their weekends and savings to be part of a rapidly growing grassroots college golf movement in a crucial segment of the golfer life cycle.

The Florida Region’s second tournament of the spring was filled with so much drama that it couldn’t wait for the tournament to start.

Franklin, Ill. – The Great Lakes Regional this weekend at the Legends Golf Club in Franklin produced a lot of good scores even with extremely difficult conditions, and saw a familiar school run away with both the title and the National Championship bid.

With a big difference in weather the second Atlantic regional tournament took place this past weekend in Elizabeth, PA at Butler’s golf course Lakeside and Woodside courses.

The NCCGA North Region’s inaugural season of competition concluded this weekend, with Wisconsin once again claiming first and second in a rain-shortened weekend at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia.

As players in the New England Region of the NCCGA rolled out of their beds on Saturday, April 12th, they saw something different when they opened their window shades. They saw the sun.

The NCCGA South Region capped off its 2014 spring season at Centennial Golf Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The NCCGA and Hurricane Collegiate Golf Tour (HCGT) are on a combined mission to help more college students play competitive golf. Many Hurricane players have tried their hand in NCCGA tournaments this spring, and we are hoping that NCCGA players are able to keep their games sharp by competing in first-class events hosted by HCGT this summer. The 2014 summer schedule features 28 events spanning 11 different states. All HCGT tournaments are 1-Day, 36-Holes, with lunch and cart provided, perfect for golfers looking to play this summer.

After a big weekend in the NCCGA with 14 tournaments happening around the nation, picking a team and player for the weekly honor was a tougher task than ever.
