Where college students go for golf

Hello all! Many things have happened in my life since I finished my term as President of the NCCGA in 2017. For starters, I wrapped up my 4-year NCCGA career in April and graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in environmental science and policy. I thoroughly enjoyed my undergraduate years, highlighted by many tremendous experiences with the NCCGA and Nextgengolf. Thanks to the opportunities they provide, I was able to continue playing competitive golf in college and made many lifelong friendships along the way.

The Georgia Bulldogs club golf team enters the Spring 2017 NCCGA National Championship at Hot Springs this weekend as defending champs, looking to become the first team to win consecutive titles since East Carolina in 2011

The Michigan State club golf team will be making their first trip to the NCCGA National Championship since Spring 2015 at Bryan Park, after a strong performance this semester that concluded with two 2nd place finishes and an average team score of 384.

Entering regional #2 at the Michigan State home course, the Spartans were in a prime position to lock up the automatic bid with a win, after losing by just 1 stroke the weekend before. During the week leading up to the tournament, Mother Nature took action and dropped more than 5 inches of snow.

Two years since the club’s founding, Liberty University Club Golf will be heading to their first NCCGA National Championship after a strong performance in the Colonial Region this semester.

In only their 2nd year of existence, the Depaul Blue Demons will be making their second trip to the NCCGA National Championship. However, this time around they will be doing so as the Great Lakes Regional Champions.

Hey everyone! My name is Grant Johnson and I will be the NCCGA President for 2017. I’m extremely honored and excited to be working with the Nextgengolf staff to help put on more than 100 regional tournaments, 2 National Championships and many other events throughout the year. I’m really looking forward to meeting as many regional coordinators, club presidents, and golfers across the country as I can.
