Ship Sticks Helps Teams Ship Golf Clubs to City Championship

By Travis Richardson

One of the unique perks of working for Nextgengolf is that at each National Championship event we run, there's always a little time before the tournament begins to play golf. It's a great time to see the course, see any potential issues (such as places for shuttles), and just have some fun.

The only downside? We typically fly to the tournaments, and that means transporting golf clubs.

To be honest, it's one of the main reasons I usually just rent clubs from the golf course. It's a pain packing the clubs into the travel case, making sure to take the proper precautions to prevent breakage, worrying about weight and additional costs, and then the actual act of lugging the clubs around the airport, through the cramped roped off check-in lines, and then loading it into the rental car or taxi.

For people also tired of the hassle, Nextgengolf recently teamed up with Ship Sticks to provide affordable golf club shipping to the 2016 City Championship, NCCGA Nationals, and any other event you may participate in the rest of the year.

If you are unfamiliar with how Ship Sticks works, it's pretty simple:

  1. Fill out a shipping form on the website
  2. Print off the shipping label
  3. Prepare your clubs
  4. Wait for your clubs to be picked up (or drop them off yourself)
  5. Pick them up at your destination

Houston City Leader Kevin Hamori, and his City Tour Team "Tour Sauce", is using Ship Sticks to ship golf clubs to the 2016 City Tour Championship in Atlantic City ahead of time:

"Last year I didn't use (Ship Sticks) and hauled my clubs all around Chicago, through the airport, on the train, down the street, eventually arriving at my destination," Hamori said. "Needless to say I am excited to get rid of all those hassles and have my clubs where I need them when I need them this year."

Even better, 2016 City Tour Championship participants can receive 10% off their shipments to Atlantic City:

Good luck to all the golfers competing in the 2016 City Tour Championship this weekend! It'll be a great event in Atlantic City, and we're excited to get it started.
