Adapting to a new generation of golfers

We are excited to begin the 2017 City Tour season in just a couple weeks! This summer the City Tour is hosting over 60 tournaments in 20 cities across the country. Whether you've played before or not, we wanted to share some new and exciting changes that have been made this season.

Nextgengolf is excited to announce the creation of a "PGA Professional of the Month" award in 2017. The award will be given to a different PGA Pro that goes above and beyond for their facility, and will look at social media, course rates, teaching, email marketing, community involvement, and more.

A lot has changed in the NCCGA since 2013. 100’s of new college now have club golf teams, tournaments have gotten larger and more professionally run, and the club golf footprint has expanded internationally into Canada with two schools from up north joining last season.

One thing that hasn't changed over the last four years has been the support of Srixon and Cleveland Golf.

It's been a little over a year since Nextgengolf started working with Chef's Cut, providing delicious jerky snack packs at all NCCGA and City Tour tournaments. The packs have been a huge hit with golfers, the perfect snack to put in your golf bag and provide that energy boost for the final nine holes.

We here at Nextgengolf have had a lot of fun on Instagram this year. Between the Nextgengolf account and the NCCGA one, its been a busy year with photos of students, teams, champions, courses, and more. As the year comes to a close, we wanted to countdown our Top 5 golf Instagram posts of 2016.

Here at Nextgengolf we like to celebrate the best players in the NCCGA.  We also don’t mind celebrating the biggest jerks too. Ok, these players and course staff aren’t real jerks, but they sure loved the Chef’s Cut jerky they received this season.

Seaview Golf Resort in Atlantic City made for a great setting for the 2016 City Tour Championship, and the golfers more than kept up their end of the bargain with some fantastic play over 36-holes.

One of the main inspirations behind starting the City Tour in 2014 was a question we kept getting asked frequently by graduating club golfers.

The top-ranked team at this year's City Tour Championship will be Team FOD from Pittsburgh.

One of the most overlooked parts of planning an event is emergency preparation. How would you react if (blank) happened? Luckily it hasn't happened before, but if there's a medical emergency at this year's City Tour Championship you can count on Team Balls Deep to snap into action.

Already known as having some of the best wedges in golf, on September 16th Cleveland Golf will launch its newest wedge technology in the form of the RTX-3.

Ever since the announcement was made last month and Cleveland Golf began sharing pictures and promoting the launch, dozens of people in the Nextgengolf community have reached out to me asking how and when they can get their hands on these new beauties.  

The words to describe Team Big Booty, which qualified for the 2016 City Tour Championship out of New York, can best be summed up in their expectations for the weekend.

One of the unique perks of working for Nextgengolf is that at each National Championship event we run, there's always a little time before the tournament begins to play golf. It's a great time to see the course, see any potential issues (such as places for shuttles), and just have some fun.

One question overheard at the Boston City Tour tournaments this summer: "Who are those guys wearing the Hawaiian shirts?"
