The season began a little less than three months ago on May 15th, and now teams are punching their ticket for the 2016 City Tour Championship taking place in Atlantic City at Seaview Golf Resort in September. The final weekend marked the last opportunity for teams to climb the rankings and earn a spot in the championship.

Atlanta

The team of "Gerr Naked Lades" rolled to an 11-stroke victory in the best-ball format of the Atlanta City Tour at Bear's Best Golf Club, with "Dude Where's My Par" taking home the scramble victory. Ranking the Chef's Cut Jerky Flavors

Ranking the Chef's Cut Jerky Flavors

By Travis Richardson

During an 18-hole round of golf, it's natural to get a little hungry. After all, playing golf burns a lot of calories (especially when walking the round). It's why we were so excited to team up with Chef's Cut jerky for 2016 as a tournament partner, and provide bags of jerky to NCCGA and City Tour players at all Nextgengolf tournaments.

Nine Cities Host Season Opening Tournaments

It's been a long 240 days since the 2015 City Tour golf season wrapped up. Almost eight months since Team Slice and Dice out of Cincinnati won the first ever Championship at Cog Hill in Chicago. A lot changed since then, including expansion into new cities (12 new cities) and a brand new tournament format offered to all players (scramble AND best-ball).

I'm sure like most of you, we were ready for the season to finally start.  This past weekend the 2016 season officially kicked off in nine cities across the country. Here's how it went down:

5 best golf excuses after you top your tee shot

5 best golf excuses after you top your tee shot

By Travis Richardson

We've all been there, no matter how hard we try to forget it. Admittedly, I've been there more times than not. You are standing on the tee box. Golf ball is teed up to the perfect height. You have the correct club in hand, and all eyes are on you. You step up to the ball and take dead aim at the green. While all this is happening, you are already thinking ahead to the high-fives and trash talk after you sink the putt and walk away with a birdie.

A Story About Smylie Kaufman

By Travis Richardson

Most of the golfing world did not know who Smylie Kaufman until yesterday after his win at the Shiners. Let New Balance Golf replace your old shoes

Let New Balance Golf replace your old shoes

By Travis Richardson

Every pair of golf shoes tells a story. It can be a good story, such as the time you shot your first hole-in one. Or a bad story, such as the 105 you shot in a tournament, and the time you fell in the water hazard trying to take a risky shot. Whatever the story, sometimes it's time to move on if the shoes are ripped, worn-out, caked in mud, or just have too many bad memories.

What a finish - 2015 US Open reaction

What a finish - 2015 US Open reaction

By Travis Richardson

Golf's second major of the year proved more climactic than the first, but the same person came out on top. Jordan Spieth emerged as the 2015 US Open Champion with a 5-under score of 275. The victory is Spieth's second consecutive major victory after the Master's in April, and puts him halfway toward a grand slam.
