Where college students go for golf

The NCCGA and Nextgengolf are happy to announce that we will be headed to the great state of Oklahoma for Fall 2019 Nationals! Both the Invitational and Championship will take place November 15-17th, so be sure to mark your calendars. This edition of Nationals will be a nice change of pace from recent years and a new, unique experience for NCCGA players. 

It was another fantastic edition of NCCGA Nationals this past weekend with three of the best courses in tournament history. Great finishes took place at both the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, IN and The Trophy Club in Lebanon, IN. See below for a full recap of both the Spring 2019 National Championship and National Invitational. 

NCCGA Nationals heads back to Indiana April 26-28 for the 2nd time, with 3 exciting courses waiting for over 300 of the best club golfers from around the country. The Birck Boilermaker Complex on the campus of Purdue University will host the National Championship on it's Pete Dye masterpieces Kampen and Ackerman-Allen. The National Invitational will be played down the road at The Trophy Club, a highly regarded semi-private Indianapolis area golf club. 

I spent many hours preparing for the Careers in Golf networking event, and in the process looked through hundreds of resumes. It became very clear to me that the same few mistakes are made on almost every resume. Here are the biggest 5 mistakes I found that you should look to avoid in your own resumes. 

Nextgengolf and the NCCGA finds four dedicated Student Leaders every year to work with our team to help grow club golf. This years leaders exceeded expectations and helped make club golf a better experience for college teams. Here is a little bit about each of their experiences. 

Myrtle Beach, SC - The Fall 2018 NCCGA National Championship and National Invitational returned to Barefoot Resort for the second time on November 16th-18th. The beautiful weather and fantastic competition made this one of the best Nationals ever, below are some of the highlights from the weekend.

Another NCCGA season is in the books, and an exciting Nationals weekend is just ahead. Barefoot Resort in Myrtle Beach will host the National Championship and National Invitational November 16-18th. The resort is highly regarded as one of the best in the state of South Carolina, and Barefoot's four courses are designed by famous golf architects Davis Love, Greg Norman, Tom Fazio, and Pete Dye. 

n Friday November 16th, 2018 the NCCGA staff is proud to host the 2nd annual Careers in Golf Networking event at NCCGA Nationals. If you are a student looking for an internship or seeking part time, full time, or volunteer work in the golf industry, the NCCGA staff is dedicated to helping college-aged golfers succeed off the course. The goal of the event is to educate students on careers in golf including full time positions in marketing, sales, finance, management, operations, teaching, and engineering. For those students who are freshman, sophomores and juniors, there are hundreds of golf internships available nationally in golf.

The NCCGA continues its partnership with SCNS Foods to provide 1st and 10th tee bars to players at every single NCCGA tournament. The purpose is to provide healthy snacks on the course for our players, while helping promote a healthy food brand. 

Another NCCGA season is upon us, which means a chance for each university to prove themselves and earn a bid to Nationals in Myrtle Beach! Will Grand Canyon repeat as National Champions? Perhaps the Arizona State Sun Devils or the Georgia Bulldogs can bounce back? Either way, we're in for an exciting ride this fall, all culminating at Barefoot Resort November 16-18. Without further ado, here are your NCCGA preseason top 25. 

Golf is one of the toughest sports out there, even for the people who play it professionally. Mishits happen all the time, wiith varying degrees of severity. One of the worst mishits you can have though is a shank, when the ball hits the hozzle of the club and shoots out to the right (for a right-handed golfer). 

NCCGA season might be over, but club teams from around the country are continuing to play team golf over the summer with the Nextgengolf City Tour. These tournaments are a great way to stay competitive over the summer, while giving team members the opportunity to network with local young professionals and have fun playing the game they love. 

St. Louis- This semester's Nationals were centrally located, bringing in teams from all around the country. Norwood Hills CC and Bogey Hills CC were the host courses, both providing true tests to the best club golfers in the country. Here's a rundown of what took place over the weekend. 

The University of Cincinnati returns to NCCGA Nationals for the first time since 2014, but this time to play in the National Invitational in St. Louis. The tournament, taking place April 27-29th at Bogey Hills Country Club, will include some of the best Collegiate Club Golf teams from around the country. 

Golf is traditionally a sport where looking clean cut is a must. Collared shirt tucked into golf pants with a belt is pretty much what is expected of golfers playing at any private and many public courses. This doesn't mean you can't look fresh as hell on the golf course, especially when it comes to your pants. Throw out your boring old khakis, find your inner John Daly, and try some of these pants that are sure to make your friends envious (or make them laugh at you, depending on what kind of friends you have).
