The NCCGA welcomes the University of Kansas to its first ever appearance to Nationals! After grinding through the season in Zone 3’s Central region, the Jayhawks held their beaks high hoping for that exhilarating bid to Nationals. The first regional tournament showed promise for this group of boys that knew they had an uphill battle to Myrtle. Wolf Hollow Golf Club treated Kansas’ A team well after beating Mizzou in a scorecard playoff for first place, and securing six points in the region!

Another NCCGA season is in the books, and an exciting Nationals weekend is just ahead. Barefoot Resort in Myrtle Beach will host the National Championship and National Invitational November 16-18th. The resort is highly regarded as one of the best in the state of South Carolina, and Barefoot's four courses are designed by famous golf architects Davis Love, Greg Norman, Tom Fazio, and Pete Dye.

If you are a student looking for an internship or seeking part time, full time, or volunteer work in the golf industry, the NCCGA staff is dedicated to helping college-aged golfers succeed off the course. The goal of the event is to educate students on careers in golf including full time positions in marketing, sales, finance, management, operations, teaching, and engineering. For those students who are freshman, sophomores and juniors, there are hundreds of golf internships available nationally in golf.

We are now less than a month away from Nationals in Myrtle beach after eleven regions competed in regional tournaments last weekend. The University of Wisconsin took home the team of the week with a two day score of 737 and the player of the week was Zach Murphy from Texas State University at San Marcos who ended up -2. Nine regions will be competing October 20-21 and making final efforts to qualify for Nationals, so it’s sure to be an exciting weekend.

NCCGA Fall 2018: Week 4 Preview

The fourth weekend of regional tournaments has arrived, which means we have reached the halfway mark of the regular season. At this point, the Fall 2018 rankings are looking really tight, with the Gators sitting at the top with an impressive cumulative differential of -4.27. The only other team with an under par differential is GCU with a -1.32, but a slew of other teams are putting up impressive numbers as well including Illinois and Georgia.

Nine regions are competing this weekend, with some regions hosting their first tournament and others playing in their last. Best of luck to all of you trying to solidify a spot at the top.
