Each year the NCCGA runs more than 100 club golf tournaments all across the country.The events range from 20-100 college golfers, and provide students an opportunity to play competitively against fellow non-varsity golfers. These tournaments wouldn't happen without the hard work of student Student Ambassadors. These students are members of their school's club golf team, and help make each region a success.

College golf club teams have consistently asked our Nextgengolf team over the past several years for support on fundraising. Teams are always looking for a way to raise money to help offset the costs of running a successful club program. Earlier this year, the NCCGA fundraising platform was launched specifically to help out these club teams.

Club Presidents encounter many challenges during their time starting and maintaining a club golf team. One of those issues is recruiting. How do I find students that want to be in club? We hear from a lot of students, typically during the summer after graduation, that need some help finding students to be in the club.
As the former president of the University of Florida Club Golf team, I wanted to share my tips on how to effectively recruit students and spread awareness of the club throughout campus. These tips should not only help you find plenty of college golf club team members, but can set you on your way to developing a more competitive roster. When I was informed that the NCCGA was creating a new position within its Student Leader hierarchy, Director of Women’s Golf, I was excited about the opening of a new professional opportunity. Most of all, I was thankful that female golfers would have an opportunity to be recognized and heard within a wonderful organization.

Playing NCAA Division 1 golf is a dream for many junior and high school golfers. However, even some of the most talented players in high school are overlooked by recruiters and never have the opportunity to play at that level. The North Carolina Region hosted its second club golf tournament of the fall 2013 semester at Carolina National Golf Club in Bolivia, NC on October 12-13. The field was a bit smaller at this tournament because, unfortunately, the tournament fell over fall break for some schools. We played two of Carolina National’s three 9-hole courses, the Egret course and the Heron course. The tees were a mix of black and gold that made the course play about 6,800 yards.
