The NCCGA (National Collegiate Club Golf Association) will operate 80+ tournaments each season for collegiate club golfers nationally. For many, club golf events will be a great source of competition, comradery with teammates and a chance to play golf in college. Some NCCGA players use club golf tournaments to prove themselves in national competition with hopes to join a varsity program. For college coaches, this is a perfect time to keep tabs on top talent in the NCCGA and monitor players that could be great additions to their team.

Sun Devils Look to Stay Red Hot In the Desert: ASU at Nationals

The Sun Devils have been red hot this season, winning back-to-back regional tournaments and finishing the season as the top ranked club golf team in the country with a scoring average differential of 1.55 strokes per round. Standing out for ASU this season has been newcomer Ben Harden who led the Sun Devils with a combined score of -13 under par for the two regionals. I was able to catch up Ben and ASU club president Teig Hauer and who are both gearing up for the National Championship at the Paiute Golf Resort in Las Vegas.

Shooting two consecutive rounds under par, finishing at -5 in a tournament, is a pipe dream for most golfers. It's a weekend that most would dream about but never come true. But for Tyler Ware of Texas State-San Marcos, that type of weekend was a reailty this season, and it helped propel him to two medalist finishes in the Texas Region, the top-spot in the final NCCGA Player Rankings, and an individual bid to the National Championship.
